When she was born it was as if she was born with an ill fate as she was christened 'Eslia' named after the Goddess Elysia. One would think this is lovely for she was to be love and be loved with a passion that would envy others. As that would be the assumption for why a parent would name their child as such. [break] [break]However instead of a small devout family a few miles outside of Veritas living a full and warm life. Her parents were more like fanatics.[break] [break]Her mother more like and airy zealot didn't even get upset when her father revealed he was not actually an infernal like he had told her. Even waiting until after her mother was with child to tell her this of course. Her mother ever the 'lover' insisted it was meant to be because they shared such passion and as long as their family followed Elysia everything good would come to them. This probably had something to do with the fact she thought she was a Celestial. A descendant of Elysia herself. If Eslia had to take a guess as to why her mother was this way it was probably due to her mother getting too much praise for her looks growing up. Only reinforced by the mountain of suitors her mother had as a young woman. Eslia's grandfather also had a part to play in this as he basically trained his daughter to be 'agreeable'. [break] [break]Eslia's father was actually a ram beastfolk who had been spinning webs to gain money and any amount of influence. This was only to further his bad habits which he hid from his wife. As he was an avid gambler and despite his public face of being ever steadfast in Elysia's confidence when it came to worship. He was nearly militant about his offerings and prayers to Moros when he thought no eyes were on him. As he insisted his gambling was business not pleasure. Though he was a business man in some respect. Him and his wife have started a small 'family brought together by love'. Which is really just a small cult that are following his wife like a prophet believing in her 'divine bloodline'. While he collects 'donations and offerings' to please the Goddess. [break] [break]That was what Eslia was born into. As her parents grew older and their community grew slowly they found it harder to keep up with their 'responsibilities'. When they had a daughter they assumed it was a blessing. So to show their gratitude they essentially made their daughter an offering herself. I mean she was a product of their love after all what could be better to offer their goddess as thanks? A next generation prophet put on a pedestal in their small radical community during the day. While a confessional and unwilling confidant for her father at night. As was her life. [break] [break]She ran as far away as she could which was Fainnard. As it was easier to assimilate too. Her magic far from standout and easy enough to find stages to preform on in a capital. Though often finds herself in Pont-Ciel as who can say no to opportunity. [break] |
