After The Dusk War a surge of religious fanatics started to crop up around Avarell. They started claiming the war was lost because the public no longer worshiped the way the Divines intended. They call it a 'Divine Enlightenment'. As such small fanatic cults for each of the Divines and even groups of Divines started to make names for themselves with their drastic faith practices.
Some examples of rumors are there is a cult that:
Sacrifices small mammals (such as rats, mice, or moles) and buries them covered in coins it is said they are trading life and wealth to extend their own life in the name of Moros
Raids small local libraries/schools (usually rural basic education houses) to burn books, scrolls, or other written material that have been judged as misinformation or unfit in the eyes of Gonsis believing each piece of blacklisted information scrubbed from the world their Divine with provide them more knowledge eventually leading to the information on how to become divine themselves
Fools young women into joining only to have them worship day and night while fasting in an effort to provide worthy praise from maidens so Elysia can attain their beauty and passions to bring them favors in their endeavors
Has proclaimed they are only to forage and hunt for their food if people in the group could not get any they would starve and any found to have gotten food another way trading/buying/ or otherwise will be chased off as if being hunted themselves claiming it for Sylvana integrity in a lazy society
Will fight in one on one brawls the victors reigning over the cult taking as the pleased from any member and working them as a form of punishment for the weak stating it was always Kharn's intention for society and for his vision being recognized they will be placed as leaders when Kharn rids the world of weakness and makes a new world
Operates more like a group of violent ruffians where people can go to get their 'justice' acted out on those that have escaped punishment of course for a fee claiming the code founded was created by heretics against Faelis though no murders have been linked to them as far as anyone has heard
More rumors have been heard some worse some not so much. Some groups are bigger than others and there is no true headquarters as people will splinter off larger cults claiming they have heard a message from the divines that they are meant to create a better way to pray starting their on community. Some cults truly do believe they are worshiping to save themselves or their world others are run by opportunists looking to take advantage of the gullible. The government and larger temples have tried to step in, as well as make public missions to get a hold of the issue as they can see a clear path of escalation in these cult tactics.
