"We're sending you in against a den of a pirates this time."

I punched a fist into an open palm excitedly, "A step up from the last few missions huh?!"

"...Shouichi you pushed an asteroid and wrestled a dinosaur. I think your rating scale needs work."

"Pirates are iconic, doc!" I protested as the air carriage closed in on Pressos. I could already see a commotion going on below. It seemed like I might have already stumbled onto the pirates, and they seemed to be chasing after some citizen in broad daylight. These guys were sick.

"Burning..."

I stepped forward, falling down from the air carriage. I pulled my right fist back as I hurtled through the air. I took a deep breath as I crash landed into the ground, punching my fist as flames erupted around me.

"Attack."

I slowly stood up between the pirates and the merfolk. My helmet slowly tilting towards the pirates as I began to speak,

"I was sent here to round up some rowdy pirates, but I never expected you sickos to be chasing a woman in broad daylight!"

Ducky had stopped in their tracks looking at the person that just fell from the sky. This person was after pirates? Uhhhh. Not a great situation for Quack buuut fortune favors the brave!

"THANK GOODNESS! These bad pirates are ruining it for us good pirates! Our diplomacy attempts are met with dupkis now can you believe that!?"

Quack's harms flailed in the air and she spoke emphasizing her distress. I mean she wouldn't consider herself a 'bad' pirate. She didn't kill anyone and she was nice to kids. Yeah sure Quack had some sticky fingers but that's the worst they would usually do. That's what she told herself to justify her commotion at the moment.

A positive reception?! That was new, but not unwelcome. As my fist flew towards one of the bad pirates, I thought to myself "Man, Pirates and praise from the public. This job can't get any bett-"

Luckily I caught myself before my fist made contact with the first "bad" pirate. My armored fist was just mere centimeters from the guy's face before I pulled my arm back looking at the merfolk who was now revealed to not be a citizen at all, but another pirate.

"Dupkis..? Wait no stay on track Kanoe, What do you mean bad pirates and good pirates. Are all of you pirates just have an arguing with each other?!"

Quack gasped loudly and put a hand to their chest.

"I take offence to that, sir. How dare you make an assumption about all pirates! I am a well liked part-time member of the community and I will not stand for this disrespect!"

Quack crossed her arms and huffed, her tail twitching with irritation. She was a good pirate. People like her and she barely stole and sometimes she apologized when she stole. Usually she only stole from mean people so it was fine anyway. Granted she didn't have a ship yet so she wasn't a pirate logistically but no one here is aruging semantics.

"This is the problem with kids nowadays. They don't ever know what they're talking about. Have you ever seen me do anything bad? These people are obviously bad they are attacking me. Do you know your stereotyping is very harmful to the pirate community!?"

I blinked for a moment, thinking long and hard about the life choices I made that brought me here. After everything was send and done, she was right about one thing. I had been raised better than this. Pirates are already a marginalized group, for me to stereotype them the way I had, was incredibly wrong. I retracted my face plate so that I could properly apologize.

"You're right, that was narrow sighted of me. I apologize for stereotyping pirates and disrespe-"

Before I could finish, the pirate I had almost decked decided to take the opportunity to deck me instead. And unluckily for me his rather rotund arms had some serious knock back to them. The punch tossed me, ultra suit and all into a barrel, my butt stuck squarely inside.

"Alright, that's it. You and I are going to have words, and I'm talk about the ones with our fists." I began charging up my radiant energy before even popping out of the barrel, better to prepared you know?

"Speaking of being prepared, what kind of barrel is this?" I looked down at the label on the barrel underneath him. "LIO? The fudge is a lio- OHHHHHHH!!!!!!" The barrel my armored buttocks sat in seemed to catch flames from my radiant energy until completely bursting, sending me flying down the street into a crate. My head still ringing, I could barely make out the following words.

"FIREWORKS! COME GET YA FIREWORKS!"

It was hard to hear the man over the high pitched hissing around me. The next thing I knew there was even more loud crashing and the crate was gone. Instead, this time my buttocks was sat firmly on a rather large firework rocket. Are they called rockets? I feel like it was fitting to call this one a rocket. Unfortunately, I was headed straight towards the merfolk pirate and the other pirates, the firework rocket's nose aimed directly at the one that punched me.

"YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT! ANYTHING YOU SAY CAN-"

Ducky had to bite her lip to stop from laughing as the redhead was punched. They just watched the happenings and wondered what he was trying to say.

"Lio? What are you- WHY ARE WE SCREAMING!?"

Quack didn't get any response but ended up laughing uncontrollably. It was oil!! They laughed so hard that they even ended up laughing in the way that landed them their name. So it sounded like there was also a duck quacking in the midst of this chaos. Looking through their tears of laughter she saw the fire man coming back around to them. She got up and scurried off to make space while trying to catch her breath. This was a lovely day.

I slammed into the pirates causing a large explosion that once more sent us all flying in the air. I guess flying was poor choice in words, because as you all know I can't fly. No I was more in an uncontrolled fall upwards through the air. Comically, I tried to grasp at the bad pirates, arms and legs flailing wildly in the air. But I guess there was something about the suits bulk that made me start falling faster than the others.

My back hit the ground, knocking the wind out of me for a moment as I was reduced to just watching. My eyes tried to keep up as the bad pirates bounced up and down the streets from the explosion. Ultimately, somehow they ended up stuck in barrels, crash landing around me in an almost perfect circle. Miraculously the barrels somehow made it through the crash, keeping them trapped.

"Be used against you in a court of law..."

I sighed.
